Concrete Leveling in Atkinson, NH
We check the slab, its fixed edges, and the water path before recommending a lift.
The landing has to work with the step
Bring us to the entry you use every day. We want to see how the lower landing meets the step, where the door swings, and whether rain sits at the threshold. A panel that looks low from the yard may be doing something different at the door. Raising it without checking those fixed points could trade one nuisance for another.
We also look at the driveway edge you mentioned, but we will not put both surfaces under one vague leveling price. They carry different loads and meet different materials. The inspection should leave you with two clear decisions: which sound panel can be moved, and which worn surface needs repair or replacement instead.
The door sets the limit
An entry landing has to work with the door and the step above it. Lift the wrong edge too far and you can trade a trip lip for a door-clearance problem. We check the threshold, the step height, and the slope that lets water leave the entrance. The goal is a usable path into the house.
A driveway edge has different fixed points. Tires cross it, and the material next to it may not be concrete at all. We would rather scope those surfaces separately than promise a single lift that makes every transition perfect. It rarely works that way.

Keep the solid panel, lose the sales pitch
If the landing is intact and one side has lost support, lifting may be worth discussing. If corners are crumbling or the top is badly worn, new concrete may be the honest recommendation. We check for a sound piece before choosing foam or any other injected material. ACI's slabjacking guide makes the same basic point: severe distress can make replacement the better repair.
Water can undo a neat-looking fix. We look at the downspout, grade, and soil edge around the landing. We do not claim a one-time lift will cure an ongoing washout that nobody has addressed.
Atkinson scope and town boundary
Atkinson lists a driveway permit and a separate work-in-right-of-way permit among its Public Works forms. A private concrete landing is not automatically the same scope as work at the road. If the proposed fix reaches the paved approach or public side, we separate it and confirm the approval route with the town.
Read the Atkinson source. Any approval question depends on the actual proposed work.
What we would put on paper
The Atkinson estimate should identify the landing or driveway section, show the useful target height, and list any crack or drainage work outside the lift. We should explain if the slab might bind against a step and how the crew would handle that. The proposed method belongs in the scope only after we have seen the concrete.
If you also want the drive repaved, that is another line of work and another town question. We will not wrap it into a vague concrete-leveling price. A narrower, accurate quote is better than a big one whose limits no one can explain.

When a new pour wins
A good lift saves sound concrete. It does not rebuild a broken surface. If the landing has split into unstable pieces, replacement may give you a safer and cleaner result. We can compare both paths at the inspection and explain the disturbance each would cause at the door.
Take a photo of the existing trip edge before anyone starts. After work, compare the same edge, not a different angle. Ask what happens to old cracks and visible injection points. You deserve to know what the finished surface will look like before you choose.

Where this Atkinson repair fits
Compare concrete leveling with a new pour for the entry landing. For surface damage without settlement, compare concrete repair before paying for a lift. If the adjacent wall is moving, that belongs in a separate foundation assessment.
A question to bring to the Atkinson inspection
Is the problem a concrete step at the door, or deterioration across the whole approach?
We will check the entry landing and driveway edge as separate surfaces before writing a repair scope.
