This policy covers the Basement & Foundation Jargon Decoder Chrome extension only. The 603basementsolutions.com website is covered by our separate website privacy policy. Where the two differ, this one governs the extension.
Short version: this extension collects nothing.
What we collect
Nothing. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no tracking, no cookies, no telemetry, and no storage of anything you do.
What the extension reads
When you click “Scan this page for terms,” or right-click a selection and choose “Decode with 603,” the extension reads the text of that one page so it can find basement and foundation terms in it and highlight them.
That reading happens entirely inside your own browser. The page text is never sent anywhere. It is not saved, not logged, and not transmitted to us or to anyone else. When you close or leave the page, it is gone.
The extension cannot read any page unless you actively invoke it on that page. It requests no permission to access websites on its own, and it does nothing in the background.
Where the definitions come from
The whole glossary ships inside the extension itself. Looking up a term makes no network request, which is why it works with the internet off.
Links
Each definition has a “Read the full answer” link to a page on 603basementsolutions.com. If you choose to click it, that is a normal visit to our website, and our website privacy policy applies from that point on, the same as if you had typed the address yourself. That policy covers things the extension itself does not do, such as cookies and site analytics. If you never click, we never hear from your browser at all.
Data sharing
There is no data to share, sell, or transfer. We do not sell data to third parties, we do not use data for anything unrelated to explaining these terms, and we do not use data for creditworthiness or lending.
Permissions, in plain English
- activeTab lets the extension look at the one tab you invoked it on, and only after you invoke it.
- scripting lets it place the highlights and the definition card onto that page.
- contextMenus adds the “Decode with 603” item to your right-click menu.
That is the complete list. There are no host permissions, so there is no page the extension can reach on its own.
