Discover the Difference with 603 Basement Solutions

Basement waterproofing solutions are types of waterproofing systems that help your house keep the basement safe and dry.

Your basement is the foundation of your home. Think of it as a sponge, absorbing all the water coming in contact with your foundation and pushing that moisture into your walls, floors, and ceilings. If you’ve noticed any waterlogging or dampness in your basement (or had a wet basement before), then this can lead to significant structural damage and even mold and mildew growth.

That’s where we come in! We have helped thousands of homeowners in New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts to improve the health of their basements, and even the health of their loved ones, by making sure that water and moisture in your basement are a thing of the past!

A wet basement can stop you from renovating that old smelly basement into your dream living space. Without having your basement waterproofed, it can be hard seeing the cold and damp space of your home becoming a large, livable space for parties, a guest bedroom, or more!

100% guaranteed to be dry for life.

Why does my basement get wet?

603 Basement Solutions

There are various reasons the basement needs waterproofing and has a damp or wet interior/exterior.

These are just a few of the hundreds of reasons that you can have damage in your basement area and need it to be waterproofed. 603 Basement Solutions has been taking care of basements in New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts for years and completed over a thousand similar projects. Our raving reviews prove we are a team that cares about our community. We want to help bring even more value to your home.

Sloping grounds

When the ground slopes downwards away from the home's foundation, it means your house is at the bottom of a hill, and there is a high chance that rainwater will run under the foundation and into the basement.

Exposure to high water levels

If your home is located in an area that has a high water table or is near a body of water, such as a river, wetness may enter your basement through cracks in the walls.

Damaged vertical drains (clogged drains)

At times, soil from trees and plants can clog up drain pipes leading to your home's sump pump which will cause flooding in your basement and create humid conditions favorable for mold growth.

Stormwater

Rainwater seeps in through the foundations and walls that are not properly waterproofed.

Leaking pipes

Water sources such as basement windows, broken pipes from the laundry room or sinks, and floor drains. Also, the condensation from moisture in the home like humidity from HVAC systems and water piping systems.

Wrong grading

Improper grading around the home can cause improper drainage of water away from the house which can lead to a wet basement.

What is Basement Waterproofing?

Water on a basement floor can come from roof runoff at the foundation, a plumbing leak, a single crack, or seepage along the floor-wall joint. The first wet point and its timing tell us more than a general description of the town’s weather. We inspect that path before specifying a repair.

603 installs interior basement drainage and sump systems, not exterior-excavation waterproofing. For repeated perimeter seepage, an interior drain can collect water and lead it to a sump. Roof runoff and grading still need correction; a sump should discharge away from the house. The EPA’s moisture guidance starts with finding and correcting the water source.

A single stable crack can call for a focused repair. A moving wall needs a structural assessment, and a leaking pipe needs a plumber. An interior seepage system is not a floodproofing plan for water above grade. Our proposal should say which problem we found, what the work includes, and what it will not cover.

A Lynnfield homeowner should not be told that waterproofing is necessary just because the house is in Lynnfield. The right work depends on the first wet spot, when it appears, and what happens outside that wall. A damp surface on a humid day, one leaking pipe, and a recurring line of water at the floor-wall joint do not call for the same installation.

Use Lynnfield’s map for flood exposure, not a basement diagnosis

The Town of Lynnfield publishes its 2025 composite floodplain map and individual panels. Check the current map for your address if a lender, insurer, or major flood event raises that question. A mapped flood zone does not prove that liquid water is entering your foundation today. Equally, an interior drain is not a substitute for floodplain requirements or a plan for above-grade flooding. We keep that decision separate from repairing routine basement seepage.

Start at the house. Mark the first wet area, not the largest puddle after water has spread. If moisture tracks from a pipe sleeve or one window well, inspect that opening. If it appears repeatedly along the floor-wall joint on multiple sides, a perimeter collection system may be justified. A persistent musty smell without visible liquid water deserves a humidity and leak check before anyone sells drainage.

Fix easy water routes first

Walk the wet wall outside after a safe rain event. See whether gutters overflow, a downspout discharges next to the foundation, or grade carries runoff toward it. The EPA’s moisture guidance names missing gutters and water flowing toward a house as possible basement-water causes. If diverting runoff solves the problem, you may not need an interior system.

If there is a sump, check the age and condition of the pump, its power source, and where the discharge ends. A failed pump can explain a new wet basement without proving that the entire collection layout is wrong. Do not step into standing water near electrical equipment to investigate; get qualified help.

Choose the smaller repair when it fits

A stable, localized crack can merit a focused crack-repair evaluation. Water from plumbing needs a plumber. Condensation requires an air and humidity diagnosis. If the wall is bowed, displaced, or otherwise moving, structural assessment comes before cosmetic sealing or waterproofing. There is no benefit in hiding a moving-wall problem behind a barrier.

For repeated seepage along several parts of the basement perimeter, 603 can assess its Forever Dry interior system: drain, sump, wall barrier, and dehumidifier. The U.S. Department of Energy notes that interior perimeter drains can be an option for existing basements, while roof water and grading still need attention. We should show you the collection path and discharge route in the written proposal, along with what the work does not cover.

Before finishing or storing valuables downstairs

Keep photos, dates, and any past repair records. If you plan to finish the basement, get the water source settled before closing walls or installing flooring. EPA likewise advises correcting basement moisture problems before conversion to living space. For a Lynnfield inspection, contact 603 Basement Solutions or call 603-610-1770.

Lynnfield basement water: choose the smallest effective fix

The Town of Lynnfield publishes 2025 floodplain maps. Use the current panel for your address if flood exposure is in question. The map does not diagnose a damp wall at your house. Neither a mapped zone nor a Lynnfield address makes a full basement waterproofing system automatically necessary.

Find the first wet spot. A failed sump, one leaking pipe opening, a window well, and repeated water along the floor-wall joint need different responses. Check downspout discharge and grade before specifying interior work. If several perimeter points keep leaking after those corrections, 603 can assess an interior drainage system and explain its limits in writing. If the wall is moving, assess the structure first.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Lynnfield flood map tell me why my basement is wet?

No. The map shows floodplain designation for an address. It does not show a basement's first water-entry point. Inspect timing, the wet wall, roof runoff, plumbing, and any sump before selecting a repair.

What if I only have one damp spot?

A single stable crack, pipe opening, or window-well leak may be a focused repair. A plumber should handle a supply or drain leak. A full-perimeter drainage system should not be the default for one localized defect.

Should I finish my Lynnfield basement before fixing moisture?

No. Find and correct active water entry first. Otherwise new finishes can conceal a recurring problem. Bring dates and photographs of the first wet area to the inspection so the proposed scope addresses the observed source.
